Bio

Russell R. Pate, PhD

Dr. Pate is a professor in the Department of Exercise Science and Associate Vice President for Sciences at the University of South Carolina. He is an exercise physiologist with interests in physical activity and physical fitness in children and the health implications of physical activity. He coordinated the effort that led to the development of the recommendation on Physical Activity and Public Health of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American College of Sports Medicine.
