This webinar reviews the overwhelming evidence that daily habits and actions, whether they be sound nutrition, weight management or physical activity, exert profound impacts on short and long term health and quality of life. Explores lifestyle medicine concepts that are incorporated in the major, national evidence based guidelines for the prevention and treatment of various diseases (i.e. coronary heart disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome). Discusses the evidence included in the healthcare reform debate that supports better health outcomes through a lifestyle medicine approach. Identifies at least three strategies health professionals can use with clients to encourage small meaningful lifestyle changes.
